The Triathlon Training Centre’s fitness and technique sessions with head coach Richard Stannard are designed to help you improve your front crawl swimming stroke and build fitness over the winter months.

Each session will focus on the technical aspects of front crawl using swimming drills, video analysis and coach feedback to help you understand, make changes and improve your front crawl.

In addition, the session will include a main set in order to improve fitness, continue to improve your technique and to learn the use of the pace clock. This will allow you to monitor your improvements as you complete more training.

ARE THESE SESSIONS FOR ME? These sessions are for swimmers who can swim front crawl, with their face in the water breathing to the side for at least 200m continuously. This course is designed to improve your current stroke. Whether you are a pool or open water swimmer (or both), a leisure or competitive swimmer, these regular sessions will help you improve your front crawl stroke technique, efficiency and ultimately, your swim speed.

How do I book and how often must I attend? All bookings and payments for our Friday sessions are done via our online booking platform. You can book a single session or a block of sessions (called a “class pass”). The single session is used on the date you choose to book it. If you purchase a class pass, you’ll be required to book the first date at the same time as purchasing the class pass, with the ability to book future sessions via the online booking platform as and when you want to join us. The more regularly you attend, the faster you’ll see improvements but there is no requirement to attend every Friday (although we recommend it!). If you are unable to attend, you can cancel your booking via the online booking platform within 24 hours of the session and that session will be credited back onto your class pass to use at a future date. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the session, you will lose that booking.

When: Friday evenings 8pm-9pm from 12th October 2018 – 21st December 2018 and 25th January 2019 – 5th April 2019

Cost: £15 single session, block of 5 £65, block of 10 sessions £120
