Head Coach Seven-time World Champion Richard Stannard.
Richard has coached at all levels of the sport. He has taken a complete novice to age group World Champion (50 – 55), a junior elite athlete to Olympian and World Champion and most recently in 2014 an age group athlete to an Elite european silver and world bronze medalist. Richard aims to coach both the physical and mental side of triathlon and multi sport. In order to do this he trains with his athletes at the majority of sessions, guiding them through the reps as they train. This allows him to understand how the athlete is coping with the work load, dealing with the pacing and allows him to help with strategy during the session which can then be employed during races.
In order for this style of coaching to work the athlete will need to commit to training in and around Maidenhead in Berkshire for a portion of their weekly training sessions. The current squad includes athletes who commute from central London (19mins from Paddington), Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Each athlete is treated individually and sessions are tailored to their specific needs. Richard coaches both age group and elite athletes in any discipline from road triathlon to off road triathlon, duathlon to aquathlon and from sprint through to Ironman.
